As you prepare your practice for the busy filing season ahead, it’s critical to ensure that all of your technology is up to date. This is a friendly reminder from TaxAct® Professional to check the minimum and recommended system requirements for our software at your earliest convenience.
Minimum and Recommended System Requirements Beginning January 14
After January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or support for PCs running Windows 7. For the best experience and security of your data, you will need to update your system to Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. Additional minimum and recommended requirements include:

|Display Resolution (in pixels):||1024×768||1920×1080 or higher|
|Web Browser:||Internet Explorer 11 installed with latest updates, but does not need to be the default browser.|
|Internet Access:||High-speed internet connection such as DSL, Cable/Broadband.|
|Additional:||File share and sync services (such as OneDrive and Dropbox) are not supported for data storage, backup, or sharing purposes.|
The Importance of Updating Your Practice’s Systems
Remember, for the best performance — particularly for users with large client lists or very complex returns — we suggest exceeding the recommended system requirements where possible. While TaxAct Professional may be able to run on systems that don’t meet these standards, performance will be suboptimal. To maximize your usage and to ensure full security, please take a few moments to make any necessary updates to all systems in your practice.
As always, our support team is happy to help with any questions you may have about your TaxAct Professional products. We recommend having your IT resource ensure all systems you’re using are properly installed and mapped to the correct drives for all users for proper functionality prior to contacting TaxAct Support.
