Starting with version 1.01 of all TaxAct Professional Editions (available on 1/15/2019), you will be required to update your federal and state software to the most current version prior to e-filing returns. This ensures returns are e-filed with accurate calculations and meet all compliance requirements. The IRS has announced the filing season will officially open on Monday, January 28. At that time, the IRS will start processing all submitted returns and providing acknowledgements. We will begin Controlled Launch testing with the IRS today and continue over the next two weeks. This involves sending batches of submitted e-filed returns for processing.  We cannot guarantee which returns will be sent, however if your e-filed returns fall into this testing, you will see acknowledgements for those returns.

TaxAct Professional 2018 State Editions have started releasing with more available soon (see the State Program Release Dates page for the entire list of available states and anticipated release dates).
