Important: Changes to Audit Defense Coverage for TaxAct Professional

If your firm was enrolled in Tax Protection Plus coverage for Tax Year 2025, we want to make you aware of an important service change.

After December 1^st, TaxAct Professional will no longer transmit tax returns to Tax Protection Plus or support Tax Protection Plus enrollment, billing or administration within the TaxAct Professional software workflow.

TaxAct Professional is introducing Audit Defense, Powered by Drake Software, an audit protection service integrated into your TaxAct Professional workflow. The service is provided by U.S.-based Drake employees, who are credentialed tax experts (CPAs, enrolled agents, and attorneys).

Your Tax Protection Plus enrollment will not automatically transfer to Audit Defense, Powered by Drake Software. To offer automated audit defense coverage integrated with your TaxAct Professional workflow for the upcoming filing season, you must enroll separately in Audit Defense, Powered by Drake Software.
